The Nobel Peace Prize

Nobel peace prize is a most honorable prize in the world. The Nobel Peace Prize is the name of one of five Nobel Prizes donates by the Swedish industrialist and inventor Alfred Nobel. According to Nobel’s will, the Peace Prize should be awarded “to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.”

The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded every year in Oslo, the capital of Norway because Alfred Nobel’s will state that the Nobel Peace Prize should be awarded in that city. The actual prize always is presented on the 10th of December, the anniversary of the death of Nobel. The Norwegian king is in presence. “In Oslo, the Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee presents the Nobel Peace Prize in the presence of the King of Norway. Under the eyes of a watching world, the Nobel Laureate receives three things: a diploma, a medal and a document confirming the prize amount.” The Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony is held at the Oslo City Hall, followed the next day by the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, which is broadcast to more than 450 million households in over 150 countries around the world. The concert has received worldwide fame and the participation of top celebrity hosts and performers. The selection of Nobel Peace Prize winners sometimes causes controversy, as the list of winners includes people who formerly used violent methods of problem-solving, but then later made exceptional concessions to non-violence in the attempt to achieve peace. This is the only Nobel Prize not given out in Stockholm, Sweden.

You know how hacking has become a serious problem. Amid of these it is not only viable to use the older browsers but also to use the newer ones’ without knowing their security levels.

When Microsoft was marketing its new Internet Explorer 8, the main features it lauded of were ActiveX lockdowns, Automatic crash recovery, InPrivate browsing and Filtering, XSS filter, Data Execution Detection, etc. The words are big, but did not work when they actually had to. Google’s Quarterly Profit Drops for the First Time

The recession even impacted the search engine giant Google with less profits. Google released its quarterly profit results, which fell for the first time since it raised public offerings in 2004.

Google had revenues of $382 million in the last quarter of 2008, which was a 68 percent drop from the last quarter in 2007. Google’s income per share was $1.21 in the last quarter of 2008, which was far less than 3.79 dollars per share in 2007.

But these results were enough for Goggle to beat Wall Streets expectations. Wall Street estimated that Google might have profits of $4.95 per share in 2008. But Google exceeded these expectations with its profits of $5.10 a share.

Revenues were solid with an 18 percent increase from the same quarter of 2007. Google had revenues of 5.7 billion dollars for the recently ended quarter.

After subtracting the commissions paid to the ad partners, the revenues of Google are still reported to be $4.22 billion.

Soaring Crude Inventories in US Send Oil Prices Down

I do not know how happily U.S announced that it has good oil inventories; but it has turned woeful for the oil prices, which declined with this announcement.

The Energy Department’s officials released a note, which said that oil inventories in US rose by 14.3 percent to 332.7 million barrels since the previous year. Officials said that the inventories rose by 14 million barrels in just the past three weeks. I do not have news about oil consumption in US. The present position of the crude oil prices is in highly volatile condition.

The fall in the consumption must have halted the oil stocks and more production on daily basis must have added up to the already stored inventories.

In order to control this, there must be a limitation over production of oil from our production centers.

And in response to the decreased oil prices, we love our commodities getting cheaper. So do not bother about it.

Who Is Not Enjoying Their Christmas?

There are many people who use Christmas in spreading controversies. They don’t like to enjoy the holiday and don’t allow others to enjoy it.

And when this group of people waged a war on Christmas, it became the Christmas Controversy. They kept on raising issues over issues on Christmas and always turned down the holiday mood of people who wanted to enjoy it.

Their first achievement was to ban the word Christmas from mentioning on December 25th by government or corporate or the public.

And even they banned using the word Christmas tree in public and now they call it as Holiday tree.

And the vows of giant retailers are different. First it was Sears Corporation that had to alter all their marketing campaigns with the word Christmas for the word Holiday.

Similar retailers are Wal-Mart, Target Corp, Gap Inc, Best Buy Corp, etc.

But you don’t have to get disturbed with all these thongs. Controversy or no controversy, celebrations remain the same for us.

Airplanes to Use Papers in Manufacturing

Buckypaper is not as ordinary as it sounds. It is going to be used in manufacturing of things ranging from TV to an airplane. But it is not a fancy name of some metal. It is really a paper which is soon going to revolutionize the manufacturing industry.

It is all the nano technology that is going to make this paper possible to help build an airplane. This buckypaper is made of tiny carbon tubes which are around 50,000 times thinner than your hair. This material more rigid than steel and will be used in next generation electronics. The main advantage of this paper against steel is that it is lighter and when used in building an aircraft, it will shield electronic circuits and devices against electro magnetic interference, and most of all they are 500 times stronger than steel.

When you take just a gram of nano tubes and unfold them into sheets, you can cover as much as two-thirds of a foot ball ground. Such complex is nano tube.

T.V ad in CBS and NBC

Barack Obama planed a prime time TV ad before Nov 4, day on which elections are planned to held. Already advertising at record levels, Barack Obama has scheduled a half-hour commercial for prime time on Oct. 29, six days before Election Day.

Obama campaign officials said the campaign had secured a 30-minute block of time at 8 p.m. on CBS and NBC. CBS already was juggling its lineup to accommodate the Democratic presidential candidate, moving back an episode of “The New Adventures of Old Christine.”

Such a vast purchase of commercial time is of multimillion-dollar expense, but Obama has been spending dramatically on ads, overshadowing rival John McCain and the Republican National Committee.

Short political spots have been the traditional way for politicians to communicate with voters. But a prime-time, sitcom-length commercial would provide Obama an opportunity to make a closing argument to the entire country.

He was not shy about spending huge amount for the one ad and on Monday October 6, 2008, for instance, he spent $3.3 million on a single day of TV advertising. At that rate he will spend more than $90 million on ads through Election Day — more than the entire money Republican rival John McCain has to spend on his entire fall campaign.

This illustrates Obama’s continuing to reassure voters about his candidacy as an African American.
